Idea for future TLA

Just saw in the latest Texas Bar Journal that they are having their annual meeting in San Antonio next month. Instead of paper they are putting all the handouts on a flash drive and handing that out. It has the logo for the State Bar of Texas on it and it says "State Bar of Texas" on it as well. How cool and cutting edge is that??

Amy:

That's a great idea. Given all the handouts I took away from TLA, a flash drive would have been much lighter in my bag.

What a great idea! Besides having less clutter to carry around all over the place, it saves a huge amount of paper that, in many cases, will just get tossed.

For the past couple years for my talks I've had no handouts, I've just pointed folks to where the talk is. That way the links are live. I've often posted a MP3 file of my talk as I was preparing for the presentation. A FURL account makes a great place for any links mentioned. Slides can go on SlideShare. MP3 and vide files can go on OurMedia. Lots of free places to place your talk materials that make it more fuctional than a handout.
