Actually more recent graduates of MLS/MIS programs are qualified for 3 out of the top 5 2007 list of jobs for college grads in Parade Magazine. Library schools are offering coursework in "Emerging media specialist" (web content management / information architecture)" and "Information Security".
For example, the University of North Texas School of Library and Information Science is in the process of developing an Information Security specilization in the MIS program and already has an Information of Organization program of study. For those of us who already have our degrees, we can lobby the library schools to offer certification programs in these "hot" specialities so information professional can easily update their skills and move into these new practitice areas.
